Day 54 ~ March 25 ~ Giving
“It's not how much we give but how much love we put into giving.”
~ Mother Teresa
“Happiness doesn't result from what we get, but from what we give.”
~ Ben Carson
“For it is in giving that we receive.”
~ St. Francis of Assisi
Practice generously giving by sharing time, talent, energy and material resources with others. Whatever you give, do it without thinking of getting anything in return. Do it as a service, not reluctantly, but with joy. That is a real gift.
Today I know that as I free myself from the tyranny of “I want,” “What about me?” and “That’s mine!” I am able to step into someone else’s reality; I am able to feel what is needed and give what I have, whether it be time, treasure or talent.
Clean out your closets or garage and give away things you’re not using. Give your time to a volunteer organization and your financial resources to a cause that supports and practices nonviolence.

Action for Teens
Practice giving with no thought of return. Give of your time, your energy, your material possessions, or give love and support. Giving to others is also one of the best gifts you can give to yourself.
Action for Children
Make a gift for a family member or friend. There doesn’t have to be a special reason to give. How does giving to others make you feel?
“Generosity is giving more than you can, and pride is taking less than you need.”
~ Khalil Gibran
“Remember that the happiest people are not those getting more, but those giving more.” ~ H. Jackson Brown, Jr.
“The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.”
~ Pablo Picasso
