                     Day 23 ~  February 22 ~ Prayer

Quotes
“Prayer from the heart can achieve what nothing else in the world can.”
~ Mahatma Gandhi

“Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is discord, union;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy.”

~ St. Francis of Assisi
Reflection
Prayer comes in many forms and styles. While there are many beautiful and sacred prayer traditions in the world for us to draw upon, prayer is not something that necessarily needs to be ceremonial.
There is no right or wrong way to pray in our collective journey toward a more peaceful world. But along with words, prayers and intentions, we can say that our life is our prayer when our day to day actions are aligned with our desire to contribute to a world free from violence.

Affirmation
Today, my simple prayer and blessing:  May we remember love and in so doing, hold each other as precious.
Daily Action
Begin and end today with a prayer for peace. You can write your own prayer for peace. Alternatively, all major religions have prayers for peace. Let peace begin with you.

Action for Teens
Take time today to visualize peace in your heart, in your friends, in your family, on the planet. Let peace begin with you.
Action for Children
Begin and end today by saying “Peace begins with me”.

Quotes
“Prayer is not asking. It is a longing of the soul. It is daily admission of one's weakness. It is better in prayer to have a heart without words than words without a heart.” ~ Mahatma Gandhi

“If the only prayer you said was 'thank you', that would be enough.”
~ Meister Eckhart
