Day 13 ~ February 12 ~ Creativity
Quotes
“Why should we use all our creative power? Because there is nothing that makes people so generous, joyful, lively, bold and compassionate, so indifferent to fighting and the accumulation of objects and money.” ~ Brenda Ueland "Creativity is piercing the mundane to find the marvelous." ~ Bill Moyers |
Reflection
Human beings are essentially born creative. From infancy on we find innovative ways to negotiate life and the most creative people find ways around obstacles because they see them not just as roadblocks but also as opportunities. Creativity makes life interesting and fulfilling. Creativity is about living life as a journey, seeing and communicating the extra-ordinariness of the simplest, most every day acts. Affirmation
Gandhi said, “My life is my message.” Today I contemplate the notion that my life is also my creative medium. Quote "You can't use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have." ~ Maya Angelou |
Daily Action
Reflect on what you are creating in your life today by identifying at least five ways in which you can express your creativity joyously. Today, allow something unpredictable and joyous to be expressed through you. Create something that expresses your feelings about nonviolence. |
Action for Teens
Every day we are creative without even realizing it. We put on make-up, or do our hair, or scribble on our homework while not listening to our teachers. Today take some time to intentionally create something – a song, a poem, a video about peace and share it with others. Action for Children Create a song, a dance, a story or a picture about peace. Share it with someone. |
Quotes
“Creativity takes courage.” ~ Henri Matisse “Almost always, the creative dedicated minority has made the world better.” ~ Martin Luther King Jr. “Every moment of your life is infinitely creative and the universe is endlessly bountiful.” ~ Mahatma Gandhi |
