                         Day 51 ~  March 22 ~ Advocacy

Quotes
“When someone stands up to violence, a force for change is released. Every action for peace requires someone to exhibit the courage to challenge violence and inspire love.” ~ Thich Nhat Hanh

“I saw within my own actions a chance to be either a part of the problem or a part of the solution.” ~ Paulo Freire

“Stand up for what is right even if you have to stand alone.” ~ Anonymous
Reflection
“When someone stands up to violence,” says Thich Nhat Hanh, “a force for change is released.” You can choose to be an advocate for nonviolence. Whenever you see a person or a group being treated unfairly, think of a way to speak up for justice. When you choose to be an advocate for nonviolence you contribute to a culture of peace in the world.

Affirmation
I take these words to heart. Today I advocate for what is right and just, even if it is inconvenient, unpopular, or risky to do so.
Daily Action
Be an ally. Without blaming or judging others, listen from your heart, and speak out with love for those who are disrespected, abused or not listened to.  Find out how you can be an advocate in current conflicts.

Action for Teens
Susan Griffin said,
“There is always time to make right what is wrong.” If you are aware of injustice and unfairness, know that you have a voice and that you can make a difference. How can you advocate for a better world today?

Action for Children

Stand up for someone who you see is being treated unfairly. Say, “That’s not fair.”

Quote
"Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves." ~ Proverbs 31:8

Quotes
“Never be afraid to raise your voice for honesty and truth and compassion against injustice and lying and greed. If people all over the world...would do this, it would change the earth.”
~ William Faulkner

“I am only one, But still I am one. I cannot do everything, But still I can do something; And because I cannot do everything I will not refuse to do the something that I can do.” ~ Helen Keller
