"Your attitude can take you forward or your attitude can take you down. The choice is always yours!"
~ Catherine Pulsifer
“In every single thing you do, you are choosing a direction. Your life is a product of choices.” ~ Dr. Kathleen Hall
“Every person is an activist, whether we realize it or not, because every choice we make changes the world. It is up to us to decide to be activists for healing or for suffering, for creating or destroying.”
~ Julia Butterfly Hill
Choices are the decisions we make in life. Some choices turn out to be positive while others may prove to be negative. Our lives are made up of the series of choices we make from day to day. Our choices have great significance and impact as they relate to the peace and nonviolence we create in our lives and the spheres we move in. By choosing to be respectful, considerate, thoughtful and accepting, you are contributing to a nonviolent society.
I live today knowing that in every moment…in EVERY moment…I can choose to open or to shut down.
Reflect on the choices you face throughout the day and on how they translate your commitment to nonviolence into your thoughts, words and actions.
Action for Teens
You have the option to choose a path of violence or nonviolence. We always have choices in our lives. Today, choose nonviolence. Be considerate of every person’s dignity, and choose not to participate in disrespectful conversation.
Action for Children
Every day you make many, many choices. Think of a choice you made recently that made you feel very proud of the decision you made. Why did you feel this way?
“You are either opening in love, or closing in fear. It’s your choice.”
~ David Deida
“The content of your character is your choice. Day by day, what you do is who you become. Your integrity is your destiny - it is the light that guides your way.” ~ Heraclitus
