The word peace begins with awareness. We must open our eyes to the suffering around us and remember that behind every headline is an actual human life. Choosing empathy over hatred and understanding over division is where change starts.
Peace is not just the absence of war it is justice, compassion, and cooperation. While governments must work toward diplomacy, individuals also have responsibility. The way we speak, the way we listen, and the way we treat others all matter in this life. If we want a better future, we must stop ignoring the problems and start becoming part of the solution. Peace doesn’t begin in conference rooms. It begins in conversations. It begins in homes. It begins with us. Sage Carriere, Sandy Bay First Nation
