Creating Peace in the World 2024
Worrying about violence and injustice seems to be a perpetual concern and many wonder how we can change this scenario. The members of this panel are among those dedicated people in the world who work tirelessly for peace and justice.
Lorena Julio’s entire career has been focused on the promotion and protection of human rights. She is the co-founder and co-director of Fundacion Comparlante, an organization based in Argentina that works to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities. Kathrin Winkler is an artist, educator, and peace activist working with numerous organizations including the Voice of Women for Peace and the Mahatma Gandhi Foundation for World Peace. Additionally, both Lorena and Kathrin are part of the international peace network known as Jai Jagat. Delmy Garcia Hoyt is a dedicated social worker and an advocate for the voiceless. Her work is spurred by the ongoing pursuit for peace. Together these three women will talk about specific initiatives to create peace and justice and engage with the audience in a conversation about how we can collectively create a more peaceful world. |
